Democrats will do what it takes to protect women in America and to ensure access to the full range of health care services that they need, including birth control, family planning and counseling, preventive cancer screening, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STI), and safe, legal abortion.

House Republicans have seized on a series of deceptively-edited and widely-discredited videos to launch an attack on women’s health care. Numerous investigations have looked into the allegations portrayed in the videos and found no wrongdoing. Instead, the creators of the false videos have been indicted on criminal felony charges. Those charges were later dismissed on technical legal grounds.

Proposed Rules and Investigative Plan

Prior House investigations launched in the wake of the deceptively-edited videos alleging the unlawful sale of fetal tissue by Planned Parenthood have been decidedly one-sided and marred by procedural irregularities.

The Select Panel is already following this same path. In an effort to ensure a transparent and balanced investigation – something that the American taxpayers deserve – Democratic Members have proposed rules and an investigation plan.
